How do I use CakeLens?

CakeLens currently supports only X.com. To use it, install our Chrome extension and create an account. After that, refresh your X.com page, and a CakeLens button should appear in the top-right corner of a video when you hover over it. Click the button to submit the video to CakeLens for AI-generated content detection. You can view the detection results on your submissions page. Alternatively, you can ask us if a video is AI-generated by mentioning @CakeLens on X. We will manually submit the video to CakeLens and reply with the results on X.com.

How accurate is CakeLens in detecting AI-generated content?

Based on our validation dataset (sample content not used in training), with a probability threshold of 50%, we achieved 77% precision and 74% recall. This means CakeLens correctly identifies 70% of AI-generated content in the samples, and when it flags content as AI-generated, there’s an 84% chance it’s correct. However, please note that our sample size is currently limited.

Can CakeLens detect images and audio?

In theory, yes, but our current focus is on video, as it provides more data across the time domain for our model to analyze. We may extend support to images and audio in the future.

How does CakeLens work?

We designed our own machine learning models from the ground up and trained them using a dataset of AI-generated and non-AI-generated video files. In essence, we use AI to detect AI, leveraging advanced technology to identify AI-generated content. Only magic can defeat magic!

Does CakeLens detect AI-generated audio in video files?

Currently, our model analyzes only the visual content of videos and ignores audio. We may incorporate audio analysis in future models.

If CakeLens labels content as non-AI-generated, does that mean it’s real?

CakeLens focuses on determining whether a video is AI-generated. A non-AI-generated result may be accurate but does not guarantee the content’s authenticity, as the video could still be digitally altered. Please do not rely solely on CakeLens’s results for decision-making. Determining the truthfulness of content is at your own discretion.

Is CakeLens free?

Yes, CakeLens is currently free. In the future, we may introduce quota limits and offer advanced features through a paid plan.

Does CakeLens track my browsing activities?

Our browser extension only retrieves information about known AI-generated content from our servers and flags potential AI-generated content. For this, we may collect data based on the domain of the website you're browsing. And this feature will be configurable when available. When you submit content for detection, we process only that content and do not track your browsing activities. Please review our privacy policy for more details.

Can CakeLens identify which AI model generated the content?

Not currently, but we’re working on it. We’ve attempted to label the AI models used to generate our training video samples, but the results are not yet accurate enough. More data is needed to reliably distinguish between models.

Why does CakeLens sometimes misidentify AI-generated or non-AI-generated videos?

No detection system can achieve 100% accuracy. Factors such as video quality, post-processing, and stylistic elements may impact detection accuracy. Therefore, always assume that detection results may be inaccurate and avoid making decisions based solely on them. We are actively working to improve accuracy

Can I detect video files on platforms other than X.com?

Currently, CakeLens supports only X.com, but we may expand to other platforms in the future.

Does CakeLens provide an API?

Not at this time, but we’re interested in hearing from you if you’d like API access. Please contact us at [email protected].

Are we cooked?

Not yet—hopefully, CakeLens has us covered! 😄
